Fannie W. Fitzgerald Elementary School
Professional School Counseling Program
The Professional School Counseling Services are focused on the development of
each student in the areas of academics, career and personal-social skills.
The Counselors at Fannie W. Fitzgerald Elementary are professional school
advocates who provide support to maximize student potential and academic
achievement. In collaboration with other educators, parents/guardians and
the community, the school counselors will facilitate the support system to en-
sure all students have access to and are prepared with the knowledge and
skills to contribute at the highest level as productive members of society.
Classroom guidance lessons are conducted to help students acquire skills
essential to their future success. Individual counseling and small groups are
also provided to assist students with any problems that may interfere with
their learning experience. Emphasis will always be placed on encouraging each
student to exhibit excellence of character and achievement through a safe
nurturing, child-centered environment.
Fannie W. Fitzgerald's school counseling program is aligned with the PWCS
school counseling curriculum as well as with the ASCA National Model.
